Quality Leadership
Founder, Madame Dieu Hien CHILDHOOD

Madame Dieu Hien, was raised as an orphan from birth when both her parents were killed during the epic Vietnam war and her entire village was torched. It was unclear who brought Dieu Hien, still a baby and unnamed at the time, to a Buddhist temple for temporary harbor. It was there that a kind couple adopted her and a Buddhist monk gave her the name, Dieu Hien, which means “gentle spirit.” She and her adopted family lived along the Hau River by the soothing waters of the Mekong Delta. Their small home was filled with love, but the family often barely had enough food to eat.

Growing up poor in the countryside, Madame Dieu Hien said she has lived through hardships all her life. Her personal sufferings have instilled in her a strong desire to help and provide others with opportunities to improve their own lives. For Madame Dieu Hien, this goal became her life’s purpose. She focused her energy on this endeavor based on hard work, perseverance combined with steely determination to raise people’s living standards for a brighter future and build a productive, happy community. Her belief is that self discipline and team work are the foundation to success in business and in life. Bianfishco Company was built on these principles.

TURNING POINT

The year 2005 was a turning point for Madame Dieu Hien. After many years as a successful private real estate developer, she decided to enter the fishing world. Her ambition was to help as many people as possible improve their living standards with solid job opportunities that she saw were available in her homeland. She turned to her childhood roots and the gentle landscapes of the Mekong Delta where she grew up. There, Mother Earth has blessed the Vietnamese people with its beautiful flowing river filled with Pangasius fish. Since the inception of Bianfishco in Can Tho, Vietnam, Madame Hien has transformed Mother Nature’s gifts of the Pangasius fish to improve thousands of lives of her countrymen and women who are employed with high paying wages at the Bianfishco facilities along the Mekong Delta.

SUCCESSFUL BEGINNING

After the first year of production, Madame Dieu Hien successfully introduced one of her Pangasius products, Basa fish, to the highly competitive European markets in 2006. Bianfishco was instantly embraced and acknowledged with the top fish industry awards, including for the “Best Basa Fish” with highest quality and highest grade. Madame Dieu Hien did not stop with her success in Europe. In the fall of 2009, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream to enter the U.S. fish market.

EXTRAORDINARY STAMP OF APPROVAL BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT

Bianfishco is the very few, and perhaps the only, company that surpassed all the strictest and most rigorous health and food safety standards imposed by the United States’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and many other food and safety authorities worldwide. As the result, Bianfishco’s quality fish is the only Vietnam-based company that the U.S. Government has granted a very special status of zero percent tax import of Bianfishco products into the U.S.!

Today, Bianfishco family will continue their momentous success by bringing the best quality and highest grade Bianfishco fish and seafood to all restaurants, including fast food chains, supermarkets and seafood wholesalers in the United States. Madame Dieu Hien’s objective is that by providing only premium products, the Bianfishco name will become a household brand that stands for quality and the best fish in the sea of the world.
